Through a contract with the Missouri Department of Social Services Children’s Division (DSS) TFI provides pre-service foster care training, assisting DSS with the process of preparing a family for being resource parents. TFI also provides in-service training to existing resource parents so they may continue their license to foster children.
TFI conducts home assessments for relatives, resource parents, and adoption-only families. The assessments are a thorough evaluation into the life of potential caregivers for the most vulnerable youth in the state of Missouri. The assessments are submitted to DSS for their final review to determine if the families assessed will be licensed resource parents, relative caregivers, or adoption only.
